IT Cloud and Project Management Apprentice

Job description

The Cloud Project Management Office is responsible for receiving, planning, resourcing, and delegating cloud professional service engagements (projects) to our cloud project managers. As a member of this team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring every project is delivered successfully: on time, within scope, on budget, and to the customer's satisfaction.

You will work collaboratively with the project managers and technical solutions teams, utilising our standard project management approach (ISO9001 certified). Your focus will be on supporting the project management lifecycle, from handling new project intake to monitoring and reporting on the overall project portfolio.

Person requirements

We know you may not tick every box, and that's okay - we're more interested in your potential. If you have most of what we're looking for, we encourage you to apply. We are looking for:

  • GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
  • Basic understanding of what project management involves (can be from school/college projects or extracurricular activities)
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks or assignments (can be demonstrated through schoolwork)
  • Comfortable using basic computer applications and willing to learn new software
  • Experience working as part of a team (can be from school, sports, clubs, or volunteer work)
  • Eager to learn about project management and cloud technology
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Basic organisational skills
  • Comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance
  • Reliable and punctual

While not essential, we would value candidates who bring any of the following: previous experience coordinating group projects (such as school events or clubs), basic Microsoft Office skills, customer service experience from part-time work, an interest in technology, or any IT-related subjects at GCSE/A-Level. Online courses in basic project management or IT would be advantageous, even if these are free courses. A natural problem-solving mindset and any basic understanding of cloud computing concepts would also be beneficial, though full training will be provided.
