We are recruiting several roles across the following areas:

  • Paint shop production.
  • Product and Structure Planning.
  • Quality and Process Engineering.
  • Vehicle Body Quality.

It takes incredible craftsmanship to deliver Rolls-Royce quality, therefore making the paint finish perfect is vital for every Rolls-Royce. This is why the work of our Exterior Surface Centre couldn't be more important. During your time in the team, you will learn all about working in an area that covers every aspect of Surface Finishing a Rolls-Royce vehicle.

This includes automated paint application with precision robots and meticulous surface inspection, preparation and masking by highly skilled associates and detailing the products beyond the expectations and standards of our customers.

You will work alongside our ambitious quality specialists who work non-stop in ensuring our body shop quality targets are met and issues found are steered back to our body manufacturing partners in Germany. Furthermore, you will also support our production team in achieving their daily production requirements. An outline of your role is as follows:

  • Supporting the team in the procurement and preparation for installation phase of a new paint facility.
  • Reviewing concept maturity and change requirements in preparation for equipment commissioning.
  • Evaluation and feasibility assessment of new equipment and controls technologies for new paint facility.
  • Reviews and updates to structure layout and engineering drawings.
  • Data gathering, analysis and continuous process improvements.
  • Assisting in planning and preparation of new model vehicle build phases.
  • Streamlining of reporting requirements and preparation for annual audits.
  • Liaising with manufacturing and suppliers for material and process trials.
  • Measuring and analysing product and process characteristics to support further development of surface finish quality.
  • Steering of system improvements to support the production processes.
  • Analysis of data to understand areas of focus and steering of KPI’s.
  • Liaising with support functions such as planning, logistics and the technical laboratory for process, product, and facility optimisation.
  • Analysis of quality issues (geometry topics, process topics, integration topics, etc.) and quality reporting.
  • New model launch work and managing special body trials.

What we are looking for

  • Studying towards a bachelor’s or integrated master’s degree and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in Automotive/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Industrial Engineering or similar course.
  • Experience with MS Excel / Office Suite, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), SharePoint, Power BI, and other business analytics tools.
  • Experience with technical drawings and software is preferred (ie.CAD).
  • German language skills are advantageous.
  • Drive to create unconventional solutions and ideas.
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Good organisation and time management skills, with the ability to show high attention to detail in every task.
  • Flexible working approach depending on specific requirements and able to prioritise activities, work under pressure, multi-task and solve problems
  • Highly self-motivated and capable of working with minimal management input.
