Course content

Equip yourself with the specialist finance know-how you need to start, grow and sustain start-up and scale-up businesses. This flexible master’s, delivered in the heart of London’s start-up ecosystem, will help you develop the skillset and mindset necessary to steer bold new ventures to financial success.

For a new enterprise or innovation to grow and thrive, a company needs a rock-solid finance plan, together with comprehensive expertise in how to predict the financial consequences of business decisions.

On this course, you’ll examine entrepreneurship as a field, get a deep understanding of the innovation process, and delve into the crucial financial aspects of small and young firms – from funding and pitching, to accounting and disruptive technologies.

A hands-on skills training

A strong practical focus means you'll get to grips with the latest tools and packages to assess market needs, analyse financial status, and monitor and evaluate company performance. You’ll then put these into practice on an in-depth collaborative project working on topical briefs from companies like Monzo and IBM.

Taught by leading academics and researchers with guest lectures by industry practitioners, it’s a potent learning environment enhanced by insights from an international cohort.

Studying in East London, the nexus of the UK’s start-up industry, you’ll also be well placed to build your network within the entrepreneurial community – and explore the opportunities of the world’s leading financial hubs.

A springboard into the start-up world

By the end of your time with us, you’ll have a deep understanding of scalable finance models – and the skills to navigate the dynamics and demands of the fast-paced, high-risk start-up industry.

You’ll be more than ready to lead the financial side of your own venture, or to step into a finance management role of an existing enterprise. Your skills will be equally relevant to financial consultancy roles or areas like financial analytics.
