Entry requirements
A 2:2 honours degree with a minimum of 55% or equivalent international qualification. It is helpful, but not essential, to have studied a subject with a quantitative element such as business, accounting, economics, mathematics, physics, engineering, chemistry, geography, computer science or data analytics. We will consider applicants who have taken subjects that do not have a quantitative element but ask them to do some pre-course reading before the start of the programme.
No prior finance study is required.
Applicants with relevant professional experience or professional qualifications would be welcomed.

Explore the complexities of financial theory and gain real-world trading experience on this unique full-time master’s, taught by Loughborough Business School’s expert academics and industry practitioners.
Many roles across finance require a deep understanding of how financial markets operate. On this degree, you will build a solid foundation in the fundamentals of the subject including core finance theory, valuation and sustainable finance. You will gain first-hand experience of trading across multiple asset classes and products using industry-standard trading software and live prices.
This MSc in Finance and Global Trading is ideal if you have an unrelated undergraduate degree and are looking to transition into a finance career with an emphasis on trading. If you do have a finance background, this programme is an excellent way to deepen your finance skills, gain a well-recognised postgraduate qualification, and develop your trading skills.
Develop your financial expertise and essential professional skills
You will spend your first semester studying with students on our other finance master's programmes, exploring core topics such as corporate finance and global markets, and learning quantitative methods in addition to either financial reporting or ESG reporting. You will also start a year-long skills-based module that will set you up with the practical tools to build your career, including communication, presentation and teamwork skills.
Derivatives and behavioural finance are the core subjects for semester two. You will also have the chance to study other finance topics such as portfolio management, financial statements analysis and valuations, and sustainable finance.
Dive into the world of trading with our experiential trading module
What differentiates this programme and gives it additional real-world relevance is our immersive Global Financial Trading module which takes place in the summer semester.
Delivered by experienced professional traders from ZISHI, this intensive six-week work-based module runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. MSc students have the chance to develop the real-world professional skills and disciplines employers demand, alongside gaining a critical financial trading knowledge base and skills.
