Entry requirements
Entry to the CILEx Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice is open to all learners and there are no formal entry requirements.
However, as it is a Level 3 qualification, it is recommended that learners who enrol on the CILEx Level 3 Certificate have a minimum of 4 GCSEs (including English Language or Literature) or equivalent.

Important Information
As part of the introduction of the CILEX Professional Qualification (CPQ), Learners wishing to complete a Level 3 qualification must have registered as a CILEx Student Member by 31 May 2021.
Summary
The CILEx Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice allows learners to experience a compact, but well-rounded introduction to Law and Practice. The Certificate can be tailored to meet a learner's specific interests or work needs. The CILEx Level 3 Certificate can be a standalone course or it can build into the CILEx Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice.
Career Prospects
Learners who complete their CILEx Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice can register for Affiliate Membership with CILEx.
With a CILEx Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice, a learner can become a Skilled Paralegal Administrator, Paralegal Assistant or Legal Support Staff
Course progression include completing the CILEx Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice and then going on to the CILEx Level 6 Higher Professional in Law and Practice.
Exemptions and recognition of prior learning

Course Content
The CILEx Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice consists of 5 units in total.
Mandatory units
Unit 1: Introduction to Law and Practice
Unit 16: Client Care Skills
Unit 17: Legal Research Skills
Elective units
A learner must also choose a Practice Unit and a Linked Law unit. You may find a full list of units here.
Course Assessment
Each unit completes with an assessment. For Law and Practice units, this takes the form of an end of unit exam hosted by CILEx in June and January. For the Skills units, the assessment is coursework based.
Course Length
On average, a learner is expected to spend a year completing the CILEx Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice.
Learners have 18 months of course access to complete their course.
