Level 4 Apprenticeship Development Programme

Job description

This 18-month programme is designed to help you to get started in your career whilst studying towards a level 4 qualification.

What to expect

We start by giving you an introduction to the many areas of work around the Bank of England. You will get an idea of the breath of specialist roles here as well as receiving training sessions which focus on essential skills.

You will be enrolled on a part time level 4 qualification which provide you with knowledge that complements the skills and invaluable on-the-job learning that you will gain whilst working here.

We want to support you to succeed so you will be given sufficient time and support to balance your studies with work. As part of the apprenticeship you are allocated 20% of your working hours to study. You will also have the support of your line manager and our Future Talent team will also be on hand to support you throughout the programme.

How can you develop?

If you are interested in the Bank’s Level 4 Apprenticeship Development Programme, the next step is to choose between the following streams:

Business Analyst (QA)

This programme equips apprentices with the skills to drive business and digital change through data analysis, enabling them to make informed decisions across various industries. With a flexible 15-month learning journey that combines online and practical methodologies, apprentices gain valuable workplace skills and earn membership in BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, upon completion.

Business analyst / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education

If you are successful, you could be allocated to one of the following areas:

  • Central Operations
  • Technology

Data Analyst (JustIT)

The main role of a data analyst is to collect, organise and study data to provide business insight. As a data analyst you will have the opportunity to manage, cleanse, manipulate, abstract and aggregate data. You would also work with the data to conduct a range of analytical studies.

You will play a key role in producing high quality datasets and supporting economists in their work. When you complete this programme, you will be certified in Data Analysis Tools and Data Analysis Concepts.

Data analyst / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education

If you are successful, you could be allocated to one of the following areas:

  • Strategic Change and Operations
  • Supervisory risk specialist (SRS)

Training

  • A minimum of five GCSEs at 4 (C) and above (including English and maths),
  • Have or are predicted to have at least 72 UCAS points from up to three A levels (or equivalent)
