Industrial Operations: Global Buyer Procurement Graduate Programme

Procurement is a crucial area of our business, responsible for securing and managing complex global deals with international suppliers and strategic partners. When you join our team, you’ll support a portfolio of commodities and categories: developing strategies, managing relationships, sourcing new products, analysing market trends, negotiating new and existing contracts, and supporting procurement's transformation as part of our Reimagine strategy.

Along the way, you could find yourself supporting us in any of these areas: exterior, interior, chassis, software and digital, electrical hardware, e-propulsion, engines and driveline, aftermarket, indirect, raw materials and special vehicles. You will undertake two core placements during the programme, with specific value-adding projects, as well as a placement in a procurement support function, such as supply chain or sustainability.

Throughout your programme, you’ll develop outstanding negotiation and influencing skills whilst taking on a diverse range of placements. The programme takes two years to complete and during that time, you’ll undertake two core placements within procurement and a third placement in a procurement support function such as supply chain or sustainability. This gives you the opportunity to grow your network and expand your skills while gaining the experience you need to become a successful Procurement professional.

On finishing the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to transition into a role within procurement that fits with your interests and experience.

Your development

Our graduate programme gives you access to some of the most forward-thinking experts, networking opportunities, and valuable insights from across the industry.

We’ll support your growth every step of the way, both personally and professionally, to help you reach your full potential. As a graduate, you’ll be part of a bespoke learning programme designed to develop essential business skills, including resilience, personal branding, and self-care. Plus, you’ll enjoy dedicated off-the-job learning time and the ongoing guidance, advice, and support of our Early Careers Delivery team, who will be with you throughout your journey.

During the programme, you’ll sharpen your creative and strategic thinking, develop leadership skills, and contribute to key business projects. By the time you finish, you’ll be ready to make an impact and play a vital role in shaping the future of JLR.

Rewards and benefits

Our 2025 graduate programme salary is £32,000, with a £2,000 joining bonus to welcome you to JLR. After two years, you will progress from the graduate programme on a £39,000 salary. In addition, JLR offer a generous holiday allowance, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, excellent pension provisions and access to a wide range of deals and discounts from well-known retailers and sports clubs.

What we are looking for

To join the Global Buyer Procurement Graduate Programme, you’ll need to hold or be on track to achieve at least a 2.2 degree in business, economics, supply chain and logistics or another science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) discipline.

In addition, you should be a skilled problem-solver with a curiosity for understanding business challenges and a drive to deliver innovative solutions. Strong numerical and interpersonal skills, along with the confidence to champion new initiatives, are also essential. Above all, we’re looking for people who embrace challenges, grasp opportunities for growth, and demonstrate strong leadership in managing both projects and people.

As you will regularly travel between sites and to suppliers, a full driving licence is also essential.

JLR’s graduate programmes are not eligible for sponsorship and therefore, we will only accept applications for this programme from candidates with the unrestricted right to work in the UK for an indefinite period (if you are on a tier 4 student visa or a graduate route visa you are not eligible to apply to this programme).
