Course content

This course allows midwives and nurses to study online for five days and have this supported by a clinical skills day at the Walsall campus. Students also have access to an electronic NIPE textbook which they can download to their mobile phone.

This course aims to enable students to study the four key components of the NIPE exam. These are a greater understanding of the screening process for the eyes, hips and the heart. However, the greater issues which arise in the midwifery and neonatal practice are also covered.
The theoretical aspect is assessed by a 20-minute online viva and the clinical element is assessed by the completion of an online portfolio.
The theory is delivered online and is supported by a clinical skills day.
