Performance (Work-Based Learning)
Entry requirements
- For performers: an unedited video recording of at least two contrasting pieces, or attendance at an audition, to demonstrate a Level 6 proficiency in your instrumental or vocal specialism
- For composers: a portfolio of two contrasting compositions
- For conductors: a portfolio of degree level or professional work
- For all: a written statement, and two references (including one professional).

Course content
Structured around the needs of professional musicians, our course equips you with a breadth of new skills and knowledge. We will help you develop advanced, technically assured and artistically informed performance skills, supplemented by more specialist skills related to your personal practice. Your professional work forms part of the assessment process, particularly with regards to practical components of the course.
To meet the demands of the course, you will need some experience as a practising musician, following a recognised first degree in Music. Alternatively, you may have a first or higher degree in another subject with relevant musical experience.
