Entry requirements
You need:
- an honours degree (2:1 or above) in music technology or a related subject -
- advanced musical knowledge (although knowledge of notation and instrumental skills are not required)
- a portfolio of degree level or professional work
- a written statement.
We may also offer you a place based on relevant experience or training, normally from within the work environment. All applications are considered individually.

Course content
From advanced recording techniques, digital signal processing and mixing to managing sessions, pre-production, communication and performance in the studio, you will explore many different aspects of production in today’s fast-changing music industry.
The course is particularly focused on the ways in which we can use an understanding of how people listen to music in order to produce it. You will also develop a portfolio of recordings and ideas about networking and dissemination to help you achieve your career goals.
