Entry requirements

  • Applicants should hold at least 2:2 degree in related subject.
  • Must have completed Year 4 of bachelor of medicine bachelor of surgery qualification or relevant professional qualification such as Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy.
  • Be actively engaged in or access clinical experience in a Sports and Exercise Medicine practice in order to support learning within the programme.
  • Interview required.
  • A detailed admissions procedure will be forwarded on application.
  • IELTS: Score of at least 6.5 or equivalent

Working within a sports environment and seeking to advance your knowledge of applied areas such as MSK Ultrasound, Injection Therapy, Nutrition, Sports Psychology and Medicine in Extreme Environments? The MSc Performance Medicine helps you to fully prepare your athletes.

MSc Performance Medicine allows those individuals working within a sporting environment to tailor their learning experience.

This programme allows you to gain increased depth of knowledge in a variety of different areas subject to personal choice.

Selection of modules such as MSK ultrasound enhance previously acquired professional skill base giving the individual a unique selling point on their CV.

LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT

A variety of assessment methods are used to reflect the experiential nature and learning outcomes of this course, including case study presentations, case-based discussions, practical demonstrations, project work, written assessments and Viva Voce.

You will benefit from our strong external links throughout the North West region, accessing a number of clinicians from professional sport and the NHS.

OPPORTUNITIES

Successful completion of the MSc Performance Medicine would allow progression onto our DProf Clinical Studies.
