Future careers

Our LLM in Foundations of Legal Knowledge provides a pathway into legal practice for non-law graduates who want to progress onto further qualification as a solicitor or a barrister.
This course covers core legal modules typically covered within an undergraduate Law Degree, and replaces the Graduate Diploma Law GDL we previously offered. This course provides non law degree graduates with the opportunity to gain initial knowledge of law, to start on the pathway to potentially becoming a solicitor or barrister.
Please note that this course is not designed as a preparation course for the Solicitors Qualifying Exams (SQE) but will provide you with the foundational knowledge to progress to our MProf Solicitors Legal Practice . You can put yourself forward for the SQE without any preparation courses, however it is recommended that people undertake a relevant preparation course, such as the LLM Foundations of Legal Knowledge and MProf Professional Masters Solicitors Legal Practice course, so they are more confident with the content of the SQEs.
