Entry requirements
A 2:2 honours degree, or international equivalent, in:
- civil engineering
- mechanical engineering
- naval architecture
- offshore engineering
- ocean engineering
- marine engineering
- any other closely related discipline
Relevant professional experience is desirable, although not essential.
We will consider your application on an individual basis if you have lower or non-standard qualifications and significant, relevant professional experience.

Our MSc is for graduates in:
- marine technology/engineering
- offshore engineering
- naval architecture
- mechanical engineering
- related disciplines.
You'll focus on the fundamentals of offshore, subsea and pipeline engineering. You'll develop the following critical knowledge and skills:
- the dynamics of offshore installations
- advanced structural design
- marine risers, umbilicals and mooring lines
- reliability and integrity management of marine systems.

Information for international students
English Language Requirements: Direct Entry: IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills).
If you have lower English Language scores, you may be accepted onto a Pre-sessional English course.
