Entry requirements
A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in a relevant subject. However, combinations of the following can be taken into consideration:
- undergraduate qualifications
- masters qualifications
- relevant work experience

Course content
Your research project will be in one of the areas addressed by the marine technology research groups:
You may receive formal instruction through taught modules in important areas. This is dependent on your previous academic training and the requirements of the project.
The substantial marine technology research community including:
- 50 research students
- 140 MSc students
- six to 10 post-doctoral students
- six technicians
- 16 full-time academic staff.
This provides you with opportunities to progress your career, whether in industry or academia.
Information for international students
English Language requirements: Direct Entry : IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills). If you have lower English Language scores, you may be accepted onto a Pre-sessional English Language course.
