The increasingly professionalised and globalised nature of the hospitality industry means that employers are looking for management and leadership graduates with an academically informed understanding of these sectors as well as the critical skills needed to solve a range of management-related problems.

Through a combination of academic rigour with practical engagement with innovative industry partners and applied research, our Masters in Hospitality Leadership will help equip you with the knowledge, strategic vision and competences to take a leading role in your chosen workplace.

On this MSc Hospitality Leadership degree, we work with several hotel and hospitality partners for mentoring, live briefs, placements, internships and visits. You will also benefit from the industry mentorship programme offered by our partner organisations. In each year you’ll be allocated an industry mentor from one of our great partners, here you’ll have the opportunity to learn directly from successful hotel and hospitality leaders.

Undertaking work experience is an integral part of the MSc (Hons) Hospitality Leadership degree. This unique approach to studying at BNU, is underlined by our core belief that practical, hands-on experience must always complement a theoretical, research-informed teaching strategy. That is why, as part of your core curriculum, in year two, you’ll put your skills and knowledge into practice through an integrated internship.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in co-curricular, by taking part in community projects organised in collaboration with local hotels, as well as attending guest talks, industry visits and a wide range of networking events, conferences and seminars organised by our school and our industry partners.

Our portfolio of hotel and hospitality courses are accredited and linked to some huge industry bodies. If you decide to study one of our fast-paced degrees, you’ll benefit from our connection with the Institute of Hospitality Educational Membership Scheme, the world’s leading, award-winning, professional membership body for hospitality professionals around the globe.

We’re also part of the Council for Hospitality Management Education (CHME). Through this connection you’ll have the opportunity to get close to the industry while you study and gain work experience and build your professional networks.

Facilities

During your time studying on the Hospitality Leadership degree, you’ll have access to our High Wycombe Campus. Here you’ll benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, as well as newly built study and social areas.

Our Library is open 24/7 and offers a range of resources to support your studies. We also have a Student Learning Achievement Team, who offer tailored support with research skills, critical thinking and referencing .

You’ll also be automatically a member of our Students’ Union, which was rated No.1 in the UK in the 2024 National Student Survey. As well as this, you’ll have the opportunity to spend time at Missenden Abbey Hotel and Conference Centre, here you’ll put the theory you’ve learnt into practice. It enables a unique, experiential learning approach that will help to cement your knowledge and skills during your studies.

Our practice-based MSc in Hospitality Leadership is part of the Hotel and Hospitality School. It can help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to bolster your career prospects in this field.

As hospitality expands further into emerging markets and the demands for highly skilled and intellectually agile graduates increases, the leading managers and leaders of tomorrow must also be technically-adept in terms of mastering a wide portfolio of skills.

Different facets of hospitality as practised within and across countries at different levels of development and within a variety of business and management cultures will be covered.

We will help you to grow as a professional, building your confidence and the flexibility you need to thrive in this industry. We’ll also encourage you to take a strategic approach to various sectors of the industries. This will enhance your understanding of the ever-changing business, economic and social demands placed on these complex industries.
