On this course, we work with several food, marketing, hotel and hospitality partners for mentoring, live briefs, placements, internships and visits.

You will also benefit from the industry mentorship programme offered by our partner organisations. You’ll be allocated an industry mentor from one of our great partners, here you’ll have the opportunity to learn directly from successful food and marketing leaders.

Undertaking work experience is an integral part of the course. This unique approach to studying at BNU, is underlined by our core belief that practical, hands-on experience must always complement a theoretical, research-informed teaching strategy. That is why, as part of your core curriculum, you’ll put your skills and knowledge into practice through an integrated internship. 

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in co-curricular, by taking part in community projects organised in collaboration with local food and hospitality sectors, as well as attending guest talks, industry visits and a wide range of networking events, conferences and seminars organised by our school and our industry partners.

During your time studying on the Hotel and Events Management degree, you’ll have access to our High Wycombe Campus. What will I study?

The MSc in Food Media and Marketing offers a dynamic, interdisciplinary approach to understanding and creating influential food content. This programme explores the intersection of food, media, and marketing, training students in market research, brand management, and culinary content creation.

On this MSc Food Media and Marketing degree, you’ll delve into practical, hands-on learning. Looking at modules in culinary photography, videography, behaviour analysis, creating versatile professionals with a deep understanding of both creative and strategic elements in food media, and a capstone consultancy project that requires you to apply your learning to real-world scenarios.

You’ll also cover a full spectrum from media history and food sociology to advanced market research, brand management, and food-specific content creation, aligning with employer needs in both food and media sectors.

You’ll also extensively explore consumer psychology and research methods specifically tailored to the food industry, and learn the foundations of marketing, public relations, and effective communication, focusing on creating strong, engaging narratives for food brands.

Gaining a sociological perspective on food’s role in cultural identity, ethics, and public perception, you’ll delve into strategies for building and managing food brands and learning to develop advertising campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
