Advisory & Consulting - Prudential Risk Post-Graduate Trainee - September 2025

Job description

This role sits within the Banking Risk Consulting department of Forvis Mazars' Advisory and Consulting service line.

The primary role is to support the team in delivering projects. This means that you will focus on the execution of fieldwork and preparation of deliverables including actively contributing to final recommendations. The role, at times, will also require support on one or many other parts of the project lifecycle - known as "Business Development". This could entail research, preparation of slide decks, proof-reading, and for appropriate opportunities, presenting directly to a client or a prospect.

We are now operating a hybrid working model, so you will split your time between working from home, visiting the office or client sites when required.

During your first year you will:

  • Provide support to managers and supervisors on projects across various client types and service offerings;
  • Develop a strong understanding of consulting methods and financial services regulation; and
  • Interact with clients' staff and build an effective rapport.
  • Work within a team to ideate and develop new data driven solutions to solve critical challenges faced by businesses.

During your second year you will:

  • Take more responsibility on projects;
  • Self-review your own-work, ensuring minimal review points are raised by managers; and
  • Provide guidance to less experienced team members.
  • After two years you will:
  • Start specialising in particular areas of regulation and risk management;
  • Take on more responsibility for developing service lines and the business;
  • Take more responsibility on project planning, owning project deliverables; and
  • Demonstrate foundational project management capabilities.

The typical daily duties will include:

  • Learn about, and develop the ability to demonstrate expertise in risk management and prudential regulations through a combination of classroom courses, on-job training and personal research
  • Research, synthesize and present information and statistics on regulatory topics as and when required;
  • Develop and demonstrate the ability to “tell a story” in writing
  • Drafting client-specific conclusions and recommendations based on research;
  • Be entrepreneurial in considering the impact of evolving financial services regulations on clients;
  • Develop professional working relationships with clients and your colleagues throughout fieldwork and social activities;
  • Supporting sales and business development processes by assisting in the preparation of proposals for new work;
  • Assisting in running workshops and conferences with our clients; and
  • Assisting in writing publications of internal and external articles on topics of interest for financial services
  • Contribute to and participate in all business development activities

You're joining us as a permanent employee, so the 3 years is only the beginning of your exceptional career journey at Forvis Mazars.
