Introducing MSc International Human Resource Management — University of Liverpool Online
Dr Ali Rostron, senior lecturer in management at the University of Liverpool, explains how this part-time, online programme equips you to become a leader who can inspire and implement change
What is International Human Resource Management (IHRM)?
The most crucial resource of any business is the people who work there. Recruiting and keeping the best talent in your industry is key to building out your company, giving you a workforce that is just as passionate about the success of the business as those at the executive level. To do that, modern companies need dedicated international human resource management teams that have the necessary abilities to empower employees and employers.
With increased competition for talent and remote working rapidly becoming a desirable solution across a number of industries, the global environment and global context has never been more important. International human resource management is all about opening up positions to an international audience and managing people in a global context.
Can you tell us about studying online and how that works?
The University of Liverpool has been offering online programmes since 2000, giving us over two decades of experience in online higher education. We are proud to say that over 20,000 online students have graduated with us during this time. We have also been rated Gold in the Times Higher Education (THE) Online Rankings 2024.
Our study materials are designed and tailored for online learning. They include:
- short, animated lecturecasts for key content
- regular opportunities to reflect on and test your learning

- weekly discussion and learning activities.
Plus, you will have full access to the online library. Your study materials are always available, and you’ll be able to access them from a library, café, train or even the comfort of your own sofa with your laptop, tablet or mobile phone.
