Our city-centre campus combines heritage with modern technology. Victorian architecture meets contemporary buildings, showcasing a history we're proud of. From state-of-the-art psychology labs, sports facilities and learning spaces, we've investing over £40 million in our campus over the last 5 years. Our aim is to give you the perfect environment to study, relax and take on the big ideas and challenges which are shaping our future.

Our Creative Centre houses study spaces, listening rooms, editing studios, laboratories, and a 170+ seated auditorium and lecture theatre. It is a place for you to study, be inspired and bring your ideas to life.

Welcome to York

Our campus is located at centre of York, a city steeped in history.

York Minster, the largest gothic cathedral in Northern Europe, has been the centrepiece of York's skyline since 1475. It's just a stone’s throw away from York St John University and where our students have celebrated their graduation for many years.

The streets in York are lined with a mix of independent shops and cafes, well known high street stores and plenty of restaurants. The city also hosts an annual calendar of festivals that showcase local talent and the history of the region. These include the renowned Aesthetica Short Film Festival, York Literature Festival, York Chocolate Festival and the JORVIK Viking Festival.

York is ideally situated in North Yorkshire, close to national parks, areas of outstanding natural beauty and dramatic coastlines. If you prefer an urban getaway then direct train lines to Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Edinburgh can get you there.

London calling

Our campus in London means we can offer you even more. Located in the Export building at East India Dock, close to Canary Warf, York St John London has direct links to innovative, diverse and creative businesses across the city and beyond.

Studying here means you'll have opportunities to develop and expand your professional network, including the option of taking part in talks, visits and industry-led skills modules that have great placement opportunities. Some of these are course specific and others are available to all students. A place to call home

We know it's important to love where you live, that's why we help you find the right accommodation for you while studying for your postgraduate degree.

The majority of our postgraduate students choose to live in privately rented accommodation whilst they study. We ensure all of our students have access to a high standard of accommodation, and are treated fairly by their landlords, by partaking in YorProperty, the local council's voluntary landlord accreditation scheme.
