Entry requirements
We accept an undergraduate honours degree, normally 2:2 or above, preferably in a health-related subject, or an equivalent qualification from the UK or elsewhere.
This course is ideal if you want to understand public health issues and critically assess contemporary debates. We seek applicants passionate about improving public health and reducing health inequalities.
We also welcome applications from those with relevant experience or the potential to succeed, even if they do not meet formal entry criteria.

Course content
This master's in Public Health provides instruction in core public health skills such as epidemiology, statistics, and research methods, with a focus on the social determinants of health. The curriculum includes a range of topics like evidence-based public health, global health economics, and 21st-century global public health challenges. The course aligns with the Public Health Skills and Knowledge Framework (2016), equipping you with the skills to interpret health research and influence policy.
During your studies, you'll benefit from the expertise of external public health practitioners and University research staff. While the programme does not include a placement, you'll have the opportunity to work on applied research projects as part of your dissertation.
