This specialist distance learning PG Certificate in medical education is designed by anaesthetists, for anaesthetists, and endorsed by the Royal College of Anaesthetists. It will help you analyse everyday teaching and learning opportunities, and will enhance your knowledge and skills as a trainer in anaesthetics.
Medical education is at the core of healthcare provision the world over. Ensuring the future workforce is prepared to meet the challenges of modern healthcare means we need experts in medical education to help shape practice.
At the Centre for Medical Education, founded almost 50 years ago by world-renowned Professor Ronald Harden OBE, we help medical educators reach their goals, and ensure they're prepared to train the workforce of the future.
Our wide-ranging curriculum fits around you and your working life, whether you're new to teaching and training, or wish to advance existing skills and knowledge.
You'll start with two core modules, which will give you a strong overview of the core concepts of medical education. You'll then complete a specialist module specific to your role as a teacher in the context of anaesthesiology.
This course has been awarded 'Accreditation Plus' status by the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME). This status recognises that candidates are engaged in becoming professional medical educators through completing a high quality medical educational course.
Following this certificate, you could progress on to our PG Diploma or Masters courses to further your learning.
