About University of Chichester

The University of Chichester is 26th out of 122 universities in the UK in the Guardian University Guide 2025 and located in the beautiful county of West Sussex. Our heritage dates back to the 19th Century when Bishop Otter College was established in 1839. Previously a teaching college, Chichester then became a university.

The University has two campuses, Bishop Otter Campus in Chichester which is a 10-minute walk from the city centre, and the Bognor Regis Campus which is located 915 steps from an award-winning beach. Both campuses have excellent public transport links. Our campuses host buildings that are both historic and modern, specialist and technologically innovative, all set in beautifully tended gardens.
