Postgraduate study at Buckingham

At The University of Buckingham, there is no shortage of study options with 90 post-graduate taught and research courses to choose from. They have a wide range of Master’s degrees, including MSc, MA, MBA, LLM and a number of short courses including postgraduate certificates, graduate diplomas and courses in Education. With both January and September start dates, flexible full-time or part-time courses, it’s no surprise that The University of Buckingham have ranked Top 10 for Student Satisfaction (The Complete University Guide, 2023).

Their taught courses have a similar amount of contact (teaching) time as an undergraduate degree. They are made up of a range of modules that are delivered through lectures, seminars and tutorials, and will enable you to develop a higher level of expertise. The PHD courses are supported by two supervisors who are experts in their field of study and offer support from the day you start, to the day you complete your course. You will also benefit from the advice and support of other academic members of the faculty who will aid in various stages of your PhD, including Annual Review meetings with a senior professor.

Buckingham offer a range of research courses, spanning Master’s, PhD and professional doctorates. Postgraduate research degrees are based around independent learning, working one-on-one with a supervisor (so have a lot less contact time than taught courses), and are more specialised.

Getting lost in the crowd is something you’ll never have to worry about! Buckingham keep their class sizes small meaning your voice will always be heard, with plenty of time to connect with experts who are internationally recognised as pioneers in their field – your tutors! They incorporate their discoveries and insights directly into your degree, so you’ll graduate with the latest industry knowledge. This is why they’re ranked Top 10 for Teaching quality in England in The Good University Guide, 2022.
