Course content

Our Economics and Finance MSc provides a solid foundation in economic and financial theory, enabling you to develop the analytical capabilities necessary to deal with complex problems.

Political and social changes such as BREXIT, US elections and the pandemic have deeply affected markets; disrupting supply, demand and inflation. This course will equip you with the skills necessary to appraise financial opportunities to help address issues such as global financial crises.

Full-time students also have the option to add work experience to their Masters through a year’s paid placement in industry.

This course is part of our Finance MSc programme. All students complete the same core finance modules, then from the end of the first semester you can specialise in one of five areas.

The other specialisms offered are:

  • Finance and Accounting MSc
  • Finance and Banking MSc
  • Finance and Data Analytics MSc
  • Finance and Fintech MSc
  • Finance and Investment MSc
  • Finance and Risk Management MSc.

The University of Brighton is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) – an accreditation achieved by fewer than 6% of business schools globally.
