A second-class Honours degree or equivalent in relevant discipline.
Candidates who do not fulfil the normal entry requirements but have extensive industrial experience in a related area are considered on an individual basis.

Course content
This full-time Master's programme will deepen your technical ability, broaden your understanding of other branches of engineering, and enhance your research skills.
It is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and develops leadership and managerial strengths that can lead to Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
You’ll develop an advanced understanding of:
- Mechanics
- Materials selection
- Manufacturing
- Mechatronics
- Computer-aided engineering design
- Developing integrated mechanical systems
You'll learn the principles underpinning the design and control of mechanical systems, along with computational and simulation methods used to ensure the reliability and robustness of mechanical systems.
You will use industry-standard computational tools and analysis packages for the analysis, design and evaluation of complex systems, and numerical methods for modelling and analysing engineering problems.
