Entry requirements

To apply for a PhD at the University for the Creative Arts, you must have a recognised Master’s degree (or equivalent) relevant to your proposed programme of study, or a first-class honours degree (or equivalent) with appropriate research or professional experience.

International candidates must have an IELTS 7.0 in English Language for a standard thesis route and no less than 6.5 for a practice-based route (or equivalent qualification.

Information for international students

UCA has a global student community and welcomes creatives from around the world.

The full-time research degree is eligible for a Tier 4 visa. Students are usually able to work up to 20 hours a week to support themselves, and on immediate completion of their degree they can apply for the graduate visa (for up to 3 years for a doctoral graduate).
