Entry requirements

This programme is open to applied psychologists who have completed their professional training via the independent route. All entrants must have an MSc (or equivalent) in their field of psychology, be a Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC) registered practitioner psychologist with a minimum of 2 years experience, and be engaged in current psychological practice. Offers will be made subject to the capacity of the programme team to supervise the chosen research topic.

You are required to maintain your HCPC registration throughout the programme of study.

Course content

If you currently have Registered Practitioner Status at master’s level, this course provides you with the opportunity to study theory and research related to a specialised area of psychology to doctorate level. The production of advanced independent work also allows you to enhance your understanding of conducting research and of the ethical issues involved in this process.
