The KAUST Material Science and Engineering (MSE) Program is designed to equip students with fundamental and applied knowledge of materials. We prepare students to tackle grand challenges in sustainability and renewable energy, nano- technology and nano electronics, biomaterials, low-power computing and materials characterization.
We invite you to explore our website to find out more about graduate study programs and faculty research groups.
The Master's Degree (M.Sc.) is awarded upon successful completion of a minimum of 36 credit hours. Students are expected to complete the M.Sc. degree within 3 to 4 semesters (including one summer semester, i.e., 12 to 18 months in total). The M.Sc. degree is offered for traditional full-time students and could be a terminal M.Sc., as well as a gateway to the Ph.D. program. All M.Sc. students are expected to complete a capstone experience that includes thesis preparation and oral defense. The non-thesis option is available in the MSE Program.
