The Centre for Applied Entomology and Parasitology (CAEP) is primarily situated within the buildings of the School of Life Sciences (Huxley Building) and the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences (Lennard-Jones Laboratories). It is an interdisciplinary research centre that offers a lively and stimulating atmosphere for advanced study and research.
There are 40-50 members: professors, lecturers and their associated post-doctoral research assistants, postgraduate students and technicians. Members meet regularly for seminars, workshops, journal clubs and symposia. Research projects are supported by funding from a variety of Research Council, Charity and Industrial sources. The Centre is supported by a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment within newly refurbished and purpose-built laboratory space.

The PhD/MPhil are purely by research culminating into a PhD/MPhil thesis defended at a viva, and there are no taught elements. For most students, the PhD/MPhil start date is end of September.
