International Banking and Finance Law
Entry requirements
To apply for this degree, you will need one of the following:
A degree (in any subject), of at least a second-class honours standard, conferred by an institution in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland or by the Council for National Academic Awards.
An approved degree conferred by an institution outside the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, and a very good knowledge of the English language.
If you are an applicant whose first language is not English, the following qualifications are also required:
- IELTS: 7.0 or above with a minimum of 6 in each area
- For the LLM we require an overall TOEFL score of 100 or better, with a minimum of 25 in Speaking, and at least 24 in every other component of the test

Course content
The specialism in International Banking and Finance Law will appeal to all with an interest in financial services law. It will enable you to establish or develop a career in commercial private practice. You will also be well-prepared to embark on policy-oriented careers in the financial services sectors as well as in compliance and public service. Increasingly difficult aspects of international financial regulation in the aftermath of the collapse of financial institutions in 2008 and Brexit will be addressed as will pressing global issues such as money laundering and corrupt practices.

The specialism in International Banking and Finance Law will provide you with the knowledge, skills and insight into a highly complex and increasingly significant aspect of global law and governance.
