Course content
Our research spans the continuum from basic to applied translational science and clinical practice. We have a diverse research portfolio and a range of research facilities.
The applied and multidisciplinary nature of our work benefits from worldwide scientific collaborations and strategic relationships with global businesses and public sector bodies that enable us to see the real-world impact of our research.
You will study and work in a self-contained multi-disciplinary School, with great opportunities for collaboration with strongly related departments in all of the biomedical sciences in the same faculty, the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences, or with the University’s Schools of Chemistry or Engineering.
We welcome applications from students interested in researching for a PhD in our specialist areas.
Substantial research opportunities exist in all of the pharmaceutical sciences and clinical pharmacy, with much of the research being multidisciplinary. Close collaboration between school and industry is a major reason why so many higher graduates eventually pursue successful careers within the pharmaceutical industry.
