Course content
Our two-year MArch program advances your architectural design skills, blending practical experience with theory.
The first year of the programme will be spent predominantly in architectural practice, on a placement which you will need to secure before you enrol. This is complemented by reflective courses on legal and practical aspects.
Year two focuses on a dissertation and design thesis within our dynamic studio culture, fostering individual perspectives through real-world challenges like climate change and sustainability. We emphasize 'grounded creativity,' technological understanding, and critical reflection on architecture's wider impact.
You'll learn from leading practitioners and researchers, experimenting with innovative design approaches. The studio fosters collaboration with students, staff, and industry, addressing ethical and global issues.
Following graduation from the programme you will need to complete a Part 3 programme, for example our Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture: Professional Practice, if you intend to become a registered architect in the United Kingdom.
