A 2:2 honours degree, in English or a relevant subject discipline. Holders of other qualifications will be considered individually.

If English is not your first language you require an IELTS overall score of 6.5 with no element below 6.0.

The MA in English Literature offers an exciting array of modules to take your experience of literary study to the next level.

From Early Modern poets like Christopher Marlowe and Andrew Marvell to classics of children’s literature like Alice in Wonderland; from Victorian crime fiction to the literature of the First World War; from fin de siècle classics such as Bram Stoker’s Dracula to modern classics-in-the-making like Junot Díaz’s This is How You Lose Her – the range of texts and topics is designed to combine the familiar with the lesser-known, and the experimental with the traditional.
