Ideally applicants should have a first or a high second class honours degree in a related subject (eg Childhood & Youth Studies, Early Childhood, Education, Social Policy, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work) or equivalent qualifications / experience. IELTS: 6.5

Course content

This interdisciplinary programme equips practitioners with the depth of insight necessary to working in the best interests of children and young people. The programme offers new ways of thinking about the position of children and young people in society and creates a critical bridge between theoretical perspectives, policy and practice. This course may be of particular interest to those working with/for children and graduates of childhood studies, health, social policy and education who wish to deepen their knowledge and child-centred research expertise.

Information for international students

For those whose first language is not English or Welsh, the minimum English language requirement is:

  • IELTS: 6.5 (with no individual score lower than 6.0)
  • Pearson PTE: 62 (with no individual score lower than 58)
  • Cambridge English Test – Advanced: 176 (with no individual score lower than 169).
