Are you curious about Sustainable Farming volunteering in Italy’s historic capital, Rome? International Volunteer HQ’s Sustainable Farming project invites you to work alongside local communities on farms and parks throughout the city.
Volunteers may collaborate with migrants, individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and even children. This initiative, focused on sustainability, ecology, and multiculturalism, empowers these groups by fostering professional skill development and promoting social inclusion.
As a Sustainable Farming volunteer, your tasks will vary depending on the season and local needs. You can expect to engage in a variety of meaningful activities, such as:
- Gardening: Planting, weeding, watering, and caring for Mediterranean plants
- Agriculture: Cultivating and harvesting vegetables and legumes
- Craft Workshops: Creating objects from waste or recyclable materials
- Urban Beekeeping: Assisting with honey production and maintaining hives
- Animal Care: Looking after farm animals
- Cooking Sessions: Participating in multi-ethnic culinary experiences
- Events and Sales: Supporting events and helping sell handmade and food products
- Children’s Workshops: Leading playful design activities for children
- Urban Redevelopment: Contributing to city projects using entirely recycled materials
- Profits from these activities are reinvested in the projects and support local nonprofits addressing social challenges.
