Job description
Keep the Army fit and healthy.
Can you stay focused under pressure, in difficult situations? You will as a Pharmacy Technician. Our first-class training will help you get to grips with this important role as you keep our soldiers fit and healthy. You’ll start by learning how to be a soldier – this will cover everything from fieldcraft to how to handle a rifle. Then you’ll have two and a half years of trade training, including a BTEC in Pharmacy Services and Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Studies as well as practical work placements in pharmacies across the UK.
Once you’re qualified, you’ll work in medical centres, Defence Medical Group Hospital Units, field hospitals, medical regiments and logistics units all over the world. You’ll also gain leadership and management qualifications on top of experience and skills as a Pharmacy technician.
Start the adventure of a lifetime.
As an Army Pharmacy Technician, you’ll have the opportunity to start your Army career by training as a soldier, and once you’ve completed your initial training, you’ll then undertake further trade training. Trade training will last two and a half years and will include a BTEC in Pharmacy Services and a Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Studies as well as work placements in pharmacies across the UK.
During your Army career, you’ll also have the opportunity to gain further qualifications such as a Level 5 Diploma in Training and Education.
You’ll also receive 38 days’ annual leave every year (plus bank holidays and extra leave after operations), free medical and dental care, cheaper living costs, and free gym and sports facilities. And unless you're away on operations or training exercises, you'll normally work 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
