Job description
During the programme, successful applicants will begin by fulfilling the role of a Young People Mentor. Towards the end of the two years, the graduate will move on from Young People Mentors into the role of Deputy Manager (pending successful interview!). Successful candidates will be offered a competitive salary and receive level 5 training and support to help them reach their full potential. The role will involve a lot of hands-on work with our young people, but as you progress, you will find yourself increasingly involved in the administrative side as you are given more responsibilities and opportunities to take leadership in your home.
The responsibilities of the job:
- To assist the Registered Manager in ensuring that the Home meets the standards and expectations of its Statement of Purpose.
- To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and to ensure that the quality of care provided is consistent with Quality Standards.
- To assist in the establishing and maintenance of a competent, motivated and confident Staff team and to offer leadership, managerial direction, guidance and support to Staff at junior levels.
- To ensure that the Home’s policies and procedures are adhered to and that resources are managed effectively.
- To monitor systems for the efficient administration of the Home and to ensure that the fabric of the Home, equipment, appliances and grounds are maintained to the highest order in accordance with Health and Safety requirements.
- To liaise with Local Authorities, School, Health and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for Young Person(s).
- To actively promote the Home’s equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice policies.

- Minimum 2:1 degree (predicted or achieved)
- High level of competency using Google Drive

- Clear Disclosure and Barring Service Check (Enhanced)
