About the role
This role will provide a comprehensive and rotational experience across the finance team within the fastest growing UK train operating company. Working under the Head of Audit, Risk and Compliance, this role aims to develop your skills in audit, risk management, procurement, and financial control while contribution to key departmental projects and initiatives. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust governance including adherence to counter fraud legislation and activity, risk analysis, and contributing to ensuring the business has a strong financial control environment. In addition, you will also work with the procurement team to gain an understanding of procurement processes and support a number of exciting rail projects.

What we are looking for
- Minimum 2:2 Bachelor's (or on track to achieve).
- Some work experience is useful, but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
- Within reasonable commuting distance of our Head Office based in Manchester (M1 6LT).
- Willingness to travel as required.
- To have a real customer focus, being able to put the customer at the heart of everything they do to ensure the best customer experience.
- A focus on safety and the importance of ensuring a safe environment for themself, the customer, and their colleagues.
- An appetite for learning and willingness to seek and act upon feedback, proactively taking ownership for your development.
