Digital Publishing Assistant

Job description

Exact Editions is seeking a highly organised graduate with a keen eye for detail who will gain invaluable experience in a technology company operating within the publishing industry.

The Digital Publishing Assistant will work with the production team who are primarily responsible for processing issues on behalf of the magazine publishers we work with, as well as overseeing the creation of digital archives and onboarding new magazine titles.

The successful applicant will also work closely with providing support through phone and email to Exact Editions customers, manage client relationships within the production team, assist with ad hoc production, and come up with new ideas on making production tasks more efficient.

The key focus of the job will include, but not be limited to:

  • Working with our internal content management software to review PDF files of magazine issues, organise uploads and oversee publication of issues.
  • Working on the support team providing telephone and email assistance to Exact Editions customers.
  • Managing relationships with magazine clients and assisting with any ad-hoc publisher requests the production team are responsible for.
  • Assisting in the production process of creating digital magazine archives for existing clients as well as new publishers and communicating with our scanning provider.
  • Assisting with ad hoc production tasks and providing administrative support to the production and customer support team

What we are looking for

  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and good time-management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and confident speaking on the phone.
  • Familiarity working with Google Drive and Google Docs.
  • Strong interest in technology and in seeking out solutions to technical-related problems.
  • Numerical skills and ability to problem-solve.
  • Some experience in using Acrobat would be advantageous.
  • Some experience working in an office environment would be advantageous.
  • Educated to degree level with the equivalent of a 2.1.
  • The successful candidate must, by the commencement of employment, have the right to work in the UK.
  • Be able to work two days a week in our office based in Farringdon.
