About the role

Corporate Governance refers to the way in which companies are governed and to what purpose. It identifies who has accountability and who makes decisions. Our Corporate Management team are responsible for the effective operation of TransPennine Express's governance structures, which is crucial for the effective mobilisation of the business to meet our strategic objectives.

The Data & Insights team bring together analysis from our diverse range of subject matter experts to produce business cases for change initiatives, and feed data and KPIs into the governance structures giving leadership the information they need to make the right decisions.

The Data & Insights and Corporate Management Graduate placement is an opportunity to experience the operation of TransPennine Express's highest level governance forums, as well as being involved in data & insights project work. You can expect an equal split between the two areas. The role will allow you to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge, from operations to timetable strategy.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 2:2 Bachelor's (or on track to achieve).
  • Some work experience is useful, but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Within reasonable commuting distance of our Head Office based in Manchester (M1 6LT) or York, YO1 6JT
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • To have a real customer focus, being able to put the customer at the heart of everything they do to ensure the best customer experience.
  • A focus on safety and the importance of ensuring a safe environment for themself, the customer, and their colleagues.
  • An appetite for learning and willingness to seek and act upon feedback, proactively taking ownership for your development.
  • The ability to build positive authentic relationships and collaborate with a wide variety of people at every level.
  • To be motivated with a passion and perseverance to solve a problem or identify opportunities by analysing information from a range of sources.
  • A passion, enthusiasm, and curiosity to understand how the business operates and the ability to align with the business goals and values.
