Site Management Trainee Apprentice

Join our sought-after Site Management Trainee Programme, where you will play a vital role in ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. You will be at the heart of the action and support on various subcontractor and operator activities, working across several workstreams within the business.

Using the knowledge and skills you’ve learnt on the programme, you’ll:

  • Promote and uphold Wates' reputation for providing the highest standards of site safety, health and welfare and protection of the environment.
  • Work with our supply chain and surveyors to protect Wates' commercial position, and the potential for profit and repeat business.
  • Develop good working relationships with our clients, design team and supply chain by promoting best practice throughout the whole construction process.
  • Develop an understanding in technical practices and sequences on projects.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the project on time, on budget and to the required quality.
  • Work to ensure our subcontractors are delivering at the highest standards.
  • Develop your understanding of programme/works management.
  • Gain knowledge of and utilise cutting edge construction software and technology.

Eligibility

For the Trainee Management Programme via the Apprenticeship route, you’ll need to have achieved grade 4/C in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) and need to have obtained / be working towards a minimum of 2 A-Levels at grade D or above, or equivalent (Level 3 NVQ, BTEC, T-Level etc.).

With the exception of London, all locations require a full UK driving license plus some additional commitments as follows;

Leeds - you will be based from a specific location but our projects are widespread across the Yorkshire and North East region, so you will regularly be required to travel between projects in this area.

Newbury - you will be based from a specific location but our projects are widespread across the South region, so you will regularly be required to travel between projects in this area.

Wolverhampton - you will be working on a project which requires you to undergo advanced security clearance.
