Consulting Managed Services Apprenticeship

Job description

Why a Consulting Managed Services Apprenticeship at KPMG?

Consulting Managed Services Apprenticeship is a two-year programme working with clients who are looking to temporarily outsource parts of their business. The work we do often needs to be mobilised quickly and can vary in size and scope – you could be part of a team of 10 to 650 colleagues working on a project at any one time, whilst based at our office in Leeds.

In Managed Services, we work to deliver a quality service to our clients and provide them with a specialist support function and ultimately ensure their success. The work you will do is important and will add real value to the businesses we work with – whilst providing you with a wide range of experience and learning opportunities. It is both exciting and challenging work.

You could be involved in anything from analysing data, supporting strategic planning, developing new recruitment processes, assessing the impact of transformational change to supporting the development of new products and propositions. The type of work our apprentices get involved in is varied, and you will spend time in a range of functions during three-to-six-month rotational placements.

Quality is critical to the success of Managed Services. You’ll ideally need excellent communication skills, enjoy problem solving and be comfortable working in an environment that is constantly changing. The role is demanding and will require resilience and enthusiasm; so, you’ll need to enjoy working to meet deadlines.

All apprentices will work towards the Level Three Business Administration Apprenticeship – a recognised qualification that enables the development of core business skills and knowledge: including project management, business regulation and personal development. There is a wide scope of opportunity, where you’ll spend time across our different functions and continue your journey as you then specialise in your area of choice.

What we look for

At KPMG, everyone brings a unique perspective, and we want to ensure that you have the best opportunity to demonstrate your potential. We want to discover your individual strengths and attributes to help us to know whether you’ll enjoy working here and how you’ll thrive. That's why we’ve designed our application process to assess everyone’s potential and to ensure that you have the skills to succeed at KPMG.

You’ll generally be expected to demonstrate the following:

  • 5 GCSEs* at A* – C or at 4 – 9 (inc. English Language and Maths), or for Scotland 5 Standard Grades at Grades A – C (inc. English Language and Maths)

As part of your application, you will be given the opportunity to share any extenuating circumstances that may have impacted your GCSE (or equivalent) outcomes. Supplying us with this information will not negatively impact your application, but it may provide a positive uplift on your academic achievements. You can also choose to opt out of sharing it.

Throughout the recruitment process we will be looking to learn more about your strengths.

To be successful on this programme, you will be required to demonstrate the strengths that we look for in our apprentices at KPMG.

Training

The training and development of our people is critical to the future success of our business. We want all of our Apprentices to embrace a growth mindset of learning every day, which is why we have created a rich curriculum and learning community to help trainees build their skills and fulfil their potential. This ranges from an immersive 5-day induction experience, formal training courses, leadership knowledge bites, learning journals, online courses and networking events – all aligned to our life-long learning strategy and part of our overall student package.

In addition, as part of your Consulting Managed Services Apprenticeship you will complete the Business Administration level 3.

The Consulting Managed Services Apprenticeship uses innovative technology and is delivered via a blend of Online Classroom Live and Recorded courses plus in-centre classroom courses. This blended approach enables you to study and learn the content at a pace suited to your learning style, but ensures all are at the right technical level at every stage of the qualification. The structure of the programme spreads the building of skills and behaviours over the lifetime of 15 month apprenticeship programme qualification so that you are able to build up your knowledge ready for the End Point Assessment, and can continuously apply what you are learning, to your workplace experience through your apprenticeship skills and behaviours and off-the-job (OTJ) training. Outside of the 15 month apprenticeship qualification you will spend the remaining 9 months of your programme consolidating and applying your learning working in the business. You will have wrap around support which consists of dedicated professional coaches, online portal content and live and recorded additional study sessions, which means there is a form of support for your every need.
