Regulatory Scientists

Job description

We are now looking for a number of Regulatory Scientists to join us and work across a variety of scientific disciplines within CRD. These will be on a permanent, full-time basis. Part-time applications will be considered, working a minimum of 30 hours per week.

As a Regulatory Scientist, following comprehensive training, you will undertake technical assessments of chemicals to support regulatory decisions in the UK.

With a structured training programme running for a minimum of 18 months, you will be equipped to support legislation, write scientific reports and develop an array of skills within regulatory decision making.

A major part of the role will be to provide scientific and regulatory advice and guidance to colleagues, applicants, stakeholders and members of the public and analyse and interpret scientific information.

You will prepare written technical evaluations of data, presenting and explaining your decisions to expert committees, government departments and stakeholders.

What we are looking for

To be considered as a Regulatory Scientist, you will need, at a minimum, a degree or equivalent at 2:2 or above in one of the following (this list is not exhaustive, please contact us if you are unsure whether your degree is relevant):

  • Environmental Sciences
  • Biological Sciences
  • Agriculture
  • Chemistry
  • Biochemistry
  • Horticulture
  • Occupational Hygiene
  • Pharmacology
  • Toxicology

You will also need:

  • Sound analytical skills
  • Good planning skills
  • IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office
