The role
As a Geospatial Software Engineer you will join CGI on the Technical Graduate programme joining our team with a focus on ESRI and open-source technologies. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on ground breaking projects that leverage the power of both ESRI's ArcGIS platform and open-source geospatial tools to address complex challenges and drive innovation.

As a Geospatial Software Engineer at CGI, you'll
- Develop and maintain geospatial software applications, tools, and platforms using ESRI's ArcGIS platform and open-source technologies such as Geonode, PostgreSQL / PostGIS, OpenLayer / Leaflet, and MapLibre.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions that leverage the strengths of both ESRI and open-source technologies.
- Utilize geospatial data, GIS technologies, and spatial analysis techniques to develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in ESRI's ArcGIS platform, open-source geospatial tools, and software engineering best practices.
What we are looking for

- Candidates with Computer Science, Geomatics, Engineering or related degrees may be particularly well-suited for this role.
- Minimum 2:2 degree (some roles may require a 2:1 depending on the business unit)
- Flexibility to travel and work on different projects across the UK
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, project-based environment
- Due to the security clearance requirements of this particular role UK nationality is required.
- As CGI is a consultancy, you may be required to work in different locations, so flexibility and a willingness to travel are key.
Desired skills
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or .Net .
- Experience with ESRI's ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS API for JavaScript.
- Familiarity with open-source geospatial libraries, frameworks, and tools (e.g., GDAL, PostGIS, Leaflet, Mapbox).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
